Las Vegas Ski & Snowboard Resort FIRST to open west of the Continental Divide
Las Vegas Ski & Snowboard Resort announced today that it is opening the resort for the 2009–2010 season on limited terrain tomorrow, October 7th at 12:00 noon!
Unseasonably cold nighttime temperatures and aggressive snowmaking efforts have produced snow on Chair Three, Rabbit Peak, the only lift and trail scheduled to open. The lift accesses beginner terrain only and promises family fun at reduced prices.
“There are many skiers and snowboarders who love to jib on our freestyle terrain features and we expect many families to take advantage of this great opportunity to learn the sport and have fun so early in the season,” said Craig Baldwin, Base Operations Manager.
Scheduled to open tomorrow at 12:00 noon, resort hours will be 9am and 4pm through Sunday, then scheduled to open on weekends only until conditions allow additional terrain to open. Lift ticket prices are reduced to $20. Base area services will include equipment rental, instruction, BBQ and Bar.
“We are extremely excited to open over seven weeks early, a record early opening by far. Kudos to our snowmaking crew for making this possible, they deserve a TON of credit!”
Welcome to the 2009–2010 season, the earliest EVER!

Headed out to Brianhead on Thursday March 13th and killed it for some of the best conditions on the mountain. Aside from the chair 3 not working the trip was awesome. We were hitting chair two and headed down hunters run, then through the pillows and then down through the terrain park. Hitting the rails, wall rides and jumps. The Terrible One truck slider wasn’t open but the rest finally opened up. It was a great time. Here are the pictures from the trip and hope to see you on the mountain soon! Get out and ride before its all gone!
